About

Lindsay has been writing poems ever since she was a little girl growing up in Hampshire. One of her early poems was epically titled 'The Triliodersaponigseravilonnycope'. She studied for a degree in English Literature at Durham University and fell in love with the North-East. She has lived in Newcastle Upon Tyne for the last ten years.

Lindsay's poems have been published in various journals including MagmaMslexiaThe CadaverineMeniscus and the London Reader. In 2017, her poem 'Moon in the Water' was published on Diamond Twig website as 'Poem of the Month'. She also had a poem, 'That Moment' shortlisted in the Milestones Poetry Competition and published in their anthology. Her poem 'Wonder' was displayed in Cullercoats Coffee Shop as part of an Advent Exhibition, and her poem 'Between' was read by an actor in Carlisle as part of the 'Solstice Shorts' event from Arachne Press.

Lindsay draws her inspiration for her poems from the world around her, her life experiences and her faith. Her first poetry collection is significantly informed by her experiences of chronic illness, disability and hospitalisation.

Lindsay is a qualified social worker and her research interests include the therapeutic benefits of poetry writing for those who have suffered trauma. She works part-time for a North-East charity, and runs both creative writing and therapeutic writing workshops.
